My Journey Into Dog Training

I’ve been fascinated by dogs and animal behavior since childhood.

Growing up in Spain, I was always curious about the relationship between humans and dogs. I remember trying to understand how some dogs seemed to listen effortlessly while others struggled to follow even simple commands.

That curiosity eventually led me to study behavior, psychology and learning theory. Over time I spent thousands of hours learning about how animals learn and what truly motivates behavior.

My studies include topics such as:

Classical conditioning
Operant conditioning
Animal learning and behavior
Motivation and personality
Neuroscience and the biology of behavior
Marker training and modern training methods

How Sunny Dog Training Started

When I first began researching dog training, I noticed something frustrating.

Many training programs were either:

Too complicated for everyday dog owners
Too focused on theory
Missing practical steps that work in real life

I wanted a training approach that was simple, practical and based on real behavior science.

In 2018, I began offering dog training programs through Sunny Dog Training, helping owners solve behavior problems and develop better communication with their dogs.

Today I work full-time helping families raise well-behaved dogs that are enjoyable to live with.

My Training Philosophy

Every dog is different.

To train a dog effectively you need to understand how the dog thinks and what motivates them to respond to you.

My approach to dog training is based on three principles:

Clarity

Dogs behave best when they clearly understand what is expected of them.

Consistency

Training should be simple enough that every member of the family can apply it.

Respect

The goal is not just obedience but a balanced relationship where the dog understands how to succeed.

Training becomes much easier when both the dog and the owner speak the same language.

I lived in the United Kingdom before moving to Canada in 2019
I now live in Texas where I help dog owners across North Dallas train their dogs
I enjoy hearing people’s stories and helping families
I love going for walks and watching the sunset
