Well Worth The Money…

After doing basic obedience classes with a local pet store, our Coton de Tulear puppy was still anxious and fearful around dogs and people. Romeo would pull on his leash, lunge at other dogs and bark at them non stop. Walks became a stressful experience to the point we avoided popular dog walking hours. Since working with Sunny Dog Training we now have a calm, well behaved dog and we can all enjoy our walks together. This was our primary goal but Belen also taught us how to teach Romeo not to bark when the doorbell rings! After a month we can all calmly walk past dogs and other distractions. We are so grateful to Belen as we are now meeting the neighbourhood dogs (and not avoiding) so Romeo can socialize with good manners. Thanks to Belen and her patient and clear guidance we now better understand that Romeo was experiencing reactivity. I could not be happier with the outcome…

I brought my dog to Belen for the 5 week board and train program, and I could not be happier with the outcome. Our dog is so happy and confident, he now walks well on a leash, listens to our commands, and can run freely off leash and we know he is safe and will come when called. Everything is easier for our dog too now that he understands what we are asking when we say “sit” or “come” or “leave it”. I highly recommend this business and the services. We get compliments wherever we go…

Our 6 month old Bernedoodle puppy Harper had a lot to learn in terms of manners. She was very excitable, jumped up on people and dogs, pulled on the leash, and had a bad habit of picking up leaves and garbage while out for walks. We were especially concerned about her determination to eat random things on the ground after she became very sick from getting into infected goose poop, and we wanted to avoid having to use a muzzle on walks.

After completing the 4 week program with Belen, we have seen a major transformation in our dog. Harper responded to the training incredibly well, and is now a model canine citizen. She’s calm and confident in her interactions with people and dogs, walks beautifully on leash, and now has a clear understanding of what is and isn’t acceptable. Reinforcing “leave it” has made our walks far less stressful, and we can now trust her to ignore temptations with a simple command. Belen has helped us to better understand Harper’s personality and behavior, and we were able to use positive reinforcement with minimal discipline to achieve these amazing results. We get compliments wherever we go on how well behaved and joyful our puppy is, and people are very impressed with how well she’s doing for her age.

Harper’s newfound confidence and understanding of the rules has made her an incredibly happy dog. She’s calm, responsive, and more affectionate than ever, and we couldn’t be happier with the progress she’s made. We’re so excited to watch her continue to develop, and we have all the tools we need to help her keep learning and excelling.

I Was In Disbelief …

Belen saved my dogs life. Before training, George was extremely hyper. He would pull on the leash, bark at new people, and was especially poorly behaved around other dogs. Now I can walk leisurely down the sidewalk with him right at my side. We can have strangers come in the house with very minimal barking. We can walk by other dogs without making a scene. On our most recent walk, George and I were crossing an intersection. A driver wasn’t paying attention to us, and I had to react quickly by stepping backwards out of the cars way so we wouldn’t be hit. George reacted to my sudden movement extremely quickly, and we escaped what could’ve been something terrible. If this would’ve happened prior to George’s training with Belen, I probably wouldn’t have a dog anymore. I’m am so thankful for Belen’s patience and persistence
